Robert Redford Double Bill: The Old Man & The Gun
The film that Redford has announced will be his last
The legendary Robert Redford, in what is apparently his acting swan song, plays Forrest Tucker a career criminal who has spent his life in and out of prison. Tucker relies more on his charm than the gun in his pocket, a technique that has serve him very well for many years. After his latest bank job, he stops to help a woman called Jewel (Sissy Spacek) whose vehicle has broken down on the side of the freeway. But this is not a completely altruistic act on Forrest’s part as he is trying to shake the cops who are on his trail.
'A love letter to a cinematic legend, serving as a perfect final film for someone who long ago surpassed mere actor status to become an icon.' Brian Tallerico, Roger Ebert
'A massively enjoyable, very-light hearted, sometimes funny feature, a perfect and fitting end to the career of an acting legend.' Paul Heath, The Hollywood News
