Statement from Nerve Centre Regarding Notice of Temporary Closure
As a public cultural institution, Nerve Centre will be closed from 6pm, Friday 13th March for an initial 2 weeks in response to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak.
The decision to close temporarily was not taken lightly but we have a duty of care to both our staff and the public.
Nerve Centre staff based in both Derry~Londonderry and Belfast will also from today cease all delivery of scheduled activities and meetings with the public. This includes our Creative Learning Centre work, cultural and good relations project delivery and all activity scheduled to be hosted within our Magazine Street venue such as lessons, courses, workshops, gigs and screenings.
The forthcoming Foyle Film Festival's Intercultural and Anti-Racism Festival on the 20th -31st March is now postponed. We will process refunds for all tickets purchased for this event and others affected in due course.
Taking the lead from Derry City and Strabane District Council, Nerve Centre staff will continue to be available via virtual platforms as internal working arrangements are reviewed. Note, public access restrictions to our venue and offices do not include Mekong Restaurant - please contact them directly and keep an eye on their social channels for any updates regarding their operation.
For live updates, please visit our social channels - we look forward to welcoming you all back soon.
